Bubbles, Bling, Flowers, Beer, BBQ and More!!!

Wow, Spring is in FULL SWING with so many great events coming up this weekend - kicking off on Thursday, April 19th with 'Leesburg Girls Night Out'!  There is always so much to do during girls night out, such as the opening of a few new stores including Sugar Magnolia (a boutique recently relocated from Shepherdstown, WV) and Organic Plum (skincare).  Also be sure to check out Savannah's of Leesburg (beautiful things for your home).

'Leesburg Girls Night Out' is a fantastic kickoff for the Leesburg Flower & Garden Festival taking place this weekend on Saturday, April 21st and Sunday April 22nd.  This fabulous festival takes place with great success each year.  Over 150 vendors will be on display, featuring landscape designs, gardening supplies, outdoor living items, plants, flowers, herbs and so much more!  The 'Wine Garden' on the Town Green has been expanded and there will be wineries, breweries, food and more on hand.  There is always plenty of music and kids' entertainment as well!  A GREAT family event.

Need something to do in between 'Leesburg Girls Night Out' on Thursday and the Flower & Garden Festival on Saturday & Sunday?  Well check out MacDowell Brew Kitchen in downtown Leesburg on Friday, April 20th when they'll be featuring the music of local favorite Joey and the Waitress from 8:00-11:30pm.  Another fun event Friday night will be at The Virginia Wine Factory where they will be hosting 'Bubbles and Bling' from 6:00-9:00pm which will feature the handcrafted & exquisite treasures of Jewels by Ashkosh.  If you RSVP via the Facebook link you will be greeted with a glass of champagne!!!  With the timing you can actually head to both!

Another GREAT event we've been SO looking forward to is the big spring kickoff of Monk's BBQ at Corcoran Brewing this Saturday, April 21st.  Brian Jenkins, Jim Corcoran, Kevin Bills and everyone involved have been working hard to make your visit to the brewery a day you won't forget - featuring a new BBQ shack and patio as well as many beers on tap.  Please check the Monk's BBQ Facebook page via the link for pre-order of bulk meats - perhaps for your Caps viewing party later that day (and don't forget to fill your growlers to watch the game)!  Also while you're out there, don't forget to taste the wines of Corcoran Vineyards as well - how great that you can sample beer AND wine AND bbq all in one beautiful setting?!

Mmm Mmm Mokomandy!

If you haven't been to Mokomandy yet - what are you waiting for?  This is one of our top 3 Loudoun County gems.  Mokomandy's amazing food and chic decor belong in one of the nation's top cities and we're lucky enough to have it right in our county!  The Korean-Cajun fusion menu is so wonderfully diverse and descriptive - you know exactly what you're going to get, but when you do it's even better than it sounds - if that's possible!   Don't skip the drink concoctions or the desserts either!  We suggest you start with a Hibiscus 75 (featuring Loudoun's own Catoctin Creek Distillery's Watershed Gin) then have the 'must try' Jambalaya (we've never seen a table without it!) and some Boudin Balls to start.  We'll leave the rest of the meal choices to you but save room for the Gateau De Sirop or the Beignets for dessert!

Mondays through Thursdays they have some great drink specials including 20% of bottles of wine and large format craft beers.  What makes Mokomandy so great in addition to the amazing food and cool atmosphere is the pleasant service.  Everyone actually wants to be there, especially the amazing owner Thaddeus Kim.  You can tell he loves seeing people enjoying his vision.
